The Cellar
“A story as old as mankind, an exciting chapter of Italian and European food and wine culture which has marked the life of the rural population in our beautiful countryside.
Our winegrowers in Italy and vignerons in the Alps and in Europe, with their tenacity have built the history and tradition of wine. These men strongly believed in this tradition and deserve a place in our memory and in our restaurant.
A place of meditation and memory of great stories, great men and great Italian and foreign products
that will make you experience the feeling of a cultural and artistic journey.
The language of wine is universal. There are no borders, only perspectives and wonderful horizons.”

Borgo Santa Caterina
Borgo Santa Caterina is a small gem. Walking through its narrow streets, you will be surrounded by a unique atmosphere thanks to its ancient buildings, colourful shop windows and tempting gastronomic offers.
This neighbourhood was once a village (borgo), which since the end of the thirteenth century was under the protection of Santa Caterina di Alessandria. This is the origin of the name of Via Santa Caterina, around which the village was born. It was developed in particular since 1390, when the so-called “muraine”, walls in the lower town of Bergamo, were built. The borgo was located outside these walls and thus acquired a clear and distinct identity.
The neighborhood can be reached through several access points, and once you enter it, this glittering and varied environment invites you to take a pleasant walk both during the day and in the evening.
There are also many attractions to visit, starting with the Accademia Carrara, one of the most important museums in Italy. There you can enjoy a heritage of works which cover a wide time span, from the Renaissance to the Baroque, up to the nineteenth century.
Also the Santuario dell’Addolorata, the three paintings dedicated to Santa Caterina in the parish church of the village and the medieval cloister of the Convento dei Celestini are worth visiting.
Parco Suardi, a green area with wide paths, will be appreciated also by children.
Borgo Santa Caterina is very animated and popular during the day, but it is also very lively by night, thanks to its several clubs with different styles and its characteristic restaurants, which allow you to taste the typical cuisine of Bergamo.
In summer, the Fridays of the Borgo take place. They are evenings full of music and fun, in a fascinating neighbourhood which offers surprises in every season.
